Breeding healthy pigs

The basis of the herd was formed by almost 2000 breeding sows and 30 boars of Landrace, Duroc and Yorkshire breeds brought from Denmark in 2007. Since then we have actively increased the livestock, preserving the purity of the imported line.

Small piglets grow up with sow for 2 months.

Throughout these processes we apply the highest EU standards, supervised by Danish farming specialists. At the farm we maintain rigorous bio-security rules to prevent the herd from being infected with contagious diseases, and we keep very strict rules of hygiene for anyone with access to our stables.

By 2019 we are delivering more than 190,000 pigs annually for the market, and we have in excess of 5,800 sows in our stables.

For fattening pigs at the farm we use liquid feed. The whole process of preparing feedstuffs, quantification of food served in a specifically designed box and defining time of feeding, is performed automatically.

Boars

All boars whose sperm is used to inseminate sows are brought from Denmark. In order to renew the herd, every year a new group of purebred young pigs is brought to the farm.

Sows

We practice exclusively artificial insemination of sows, which allows for constant monitoring of the quality of sperm. Careful treatment of sows as well as strict observance of animal breeding and maintenance procedures makes it possible for us to achieve a very high level of sow fertility.

Piglets are placed in groups of 25 animals in common boxes in the weaning stable. At this stage, the main goal is to obtain a daily gain in body weight of piglets of 450-500 grams. To achieve this, we use special feed and we basically let the piglets eat as much as they want.
