Halychyna Zahid was established in August 2006 on the basis of a pig complex in the village of Kavsko that was almost ruined. The idea was to bring Danish agricultural knowhow and general EU practices to Ukraine in order to strengthen the agricultural development in the L’viv Region. In 2007 the first livestock was imported from Denmark, and from that point on the company has just kept on growing.
The imported pigs from Denmark in 2007 were sows and breeding boars of Landrace, Duroc and Yorkshire with the highest health status. The pigs were bred under sterile conditions without contact with the outside environment and were free from pathogenic agents that they would otherwise have been exposed to if living in an open environment.
Over the years we have continuously imported sows and boars from Denmark and steadily increased the livestock and expanded our production capacities, in every aspect following both Ukrainian and Danish environmental standards for proper agricultural conduct. We have sufficient amounts of land at our disposal, and the production facilities are located at the required distance from populated places.
A few facts can illustrate how much has happened at Halychyna Zahid since the beginning:
More than 90,000 m2 of stables were built or renovated and equipped with modern equipment.
More than 5,600 hectares of cultivated land are properly cultivated.
Feed mill plant with a daily capacity of 200 tons
